Dr. Gil Graff, executive director of BJE: Builders of Jewish Education, opens the Jewish Educator Awards presentation by introducing the community leaders joining today’s event. Then, touching on the tragedy in Israel, he reflects on the role teachers play in guiding students through times of crisis. “We are reminded of the importance of Jewish education in helping students find meaning and purpose in a turbulent and tumultuous world and to create a better tomorrow,” Dr. Graff says.
