Rabbi Scott Westle, Abraham Heschel Day School rabbi-in-residence, shares the story of Yaakov, emphasizing that we all have three names: the one our parents give us, the one our friends call us, and the one that we earn. “We don’t need more textbooks. We need more ‘text people.’ We need educators like you, who teach from the heart,” he says to this year’s Jewish Educator Award recipients. “Our community is strong because of the educators we are honoring today.”
