2022 Jewish Educator Award recipient Monica Daranyi, a math teacher and division dean for the ninth and tenth grades at Milken Community School, discusses the power of focusing on each student. She recalls the proud moment when a past student brought her to tears by sharing that she now teaches the same subject that Ms. Daranyi taught to her. What’s more, she adopted Ms. Daranyi’s same instructional strategies. “My 30 years at Milken have flown by and I’m so grateful to all of the people who believed in me,” she says.
