JEA Award recipient Hanna Keynan’s father passed away a few days before the Award presentation, so Rosanne Keynan, a family member, steps in to read remarks prepared in advance by Hanna. “I thank the Milken Family Foundation for acknowledging the importance of art education,” says Keynan, who teaches art to students in kindergarten through eighth grade at Pressman Academy. “I don’t teach my students to be artists; I teach them to observe and see the world in a creative way.”
