Rabbi Baruch Kupfer, head of school at Maimonides Academy, was surprised with a 2012 Milken Jewish Educator Award during an assembly planned without his knowledge. When Rabbi Kupfer joined Maimonides, enrollment was 184 pupils. Today it is at capacity with 520 students from ages three through eighth grade.
