2025 Jewish Educator Award recipient and de Toledo High School Director of Instrumental Music Jared Stein thanks his family, students, colleagues, and mentors—including 2005 Jewish Educator Award recipient Dr. Bruce Powell, a founder of de Toledo High School and his uncle through Stein’s wife, Jamie. Stein describes the joy of reaching his students’ hearts and minds through Jewish music and its connections to the neshama (soul). He closes by leading the crowd in an excerpt of de Toledo High School’s alma mater, which he wrote, to show the power of unity through song.
