Recipient Melody Mansfield is delighted to see many former students at the luncheon. “[Our students] become part of us,” she says. “In times of challenge, we conjure them up in our hearts.” In teaching creative writing, Melody explains, “it has long been my mission to restore the definition of creativity to the level of honor. … Real creativity is hard work and will never be finished.”
