Los Angeles, California December 14, 2016 Ilana Ribak, the Judaic studies kindergarten teacher at Sinai Akiba Academy in Los Angeles, addresses the guests as she accepts her 2016 Jewish Educator Award. Her mission, she says, is to raise proud Jewish young people and foster a deep connection to Israel; learning the Hebrew language is a big part of that connection. “Every day I look into the eyes of my wonderful students and I know I’m in the right place,” she says.
